The BIS Statistics database is derived from the Bank for International Settlements international banking and financial statistics, which are a unique source of information on the global financial system.
BIS Statistics includes the global tables of the locational and consolidated banking statistics and debt securities statistics. Also included are statistics on exchange-traded derivatives, global liquidity, credit, debt service ratios, property prices, exchange rates, consumer prices and central bank policy rates. Currently there are around 18,000 series in this database.
The database is updated when data are released by the BIS.
The database matches the layout of the quarterly BIS Statistical Review.
