This database provides the value of merchandise exports and imports disaggregated according to a country's primary trading partners, areas and world aggregates. The IMF supplements reported data by estimates whenever such data is not available or current.
DOTS was first published in 1950 and has been one of the major IMF databases along with the International Financial Statistics, Government Finance Statistics and Balance of Payments Statistics.
Data are available for around 220 countries and country groups. Annual data begins as early as 1948. Quarterly and monthly data begins as early as 1960.
The database is updated monthly.
